MNP is located within the jurisdiction of the Bodoland Territorial Council that came into being in 2003. The Council executes developmental programmes in its territory through various departments transferred to it and each headed by a designated “Council Head of Department” (CHD). The district administration has no role in these transferred subjects but executes schemes under Rural Development which too is funded by the Council.
